You Go Girl!

I spent a year in Doha, Qatar, as a young working woman living with my Dad. This painting was based on my experience living in this developing desert city, and trying to get my working visa. Doha is the home of fast expensive cars and branded phones. Fanar is the mosque, where people learn how to be Muslim. Meanwhile, on the other side of the world in Australia, where I am from, my sister arrived to her school formal in a Ferrari. All the boys said, “that’s not fair,” and she replied, “You bet cha.” This would be unacceptable in Doha. My thoughts are: it’s time for the women to take the wheel on their own lives, and be proud to be women just as they are. All women from the east to west remember…. You Go Girl!
